PreStarSkate

Bridging the Gap into Figure Skating Lessons

The group session emphasizes figure skating Skills, Edges, Dance, and Stroking. Skaters also receive a 20 minute off ice session where they will learn the importance of warm up/cool down, body balance, agility, and flexibility. Additional topics will include proper nutrition, sleep habits, basic anatomy, and hydration. Coaching is conveniently included with the program registration.

Parents are responsible for selecting and contracting a GSC Base coach to provide private lessons during the additional 2-4 PreStarSkate sessions.

The PreStar Program at The Guelph Skating Club is the gateway to our StarSkate (Figure Skating) Sessions and offers a 2-4 day program designed to seamlessly transition skaters from Canskate or Fast Track into StarSkate Lessons.

The program includes 1 group session and up to 3 additional skating sessions a week.

For guidance on how to choose a coach, refer to the Figure Skating FAQ

It is important to note that skaters must have completed CanSkate Stage 4 or have been assessed and recommended by the Program Director to register for the PreStarSkate Program.

We look forward to welcoming aspiring figure skaters to this exciting program that paves the way for further growth and development in the world of figure skating!
